A garage project in 2014 to Asia's & India's first Meadery in 2018 - this is the journey of Rohan Rehani and Nitin Vishwas and the creation of Moonshine. Their meads have won the Double Gold at the European Beer Challenge (the first Indian brand after Bira)
The Re-Positioning
We are the gateway drink between colas & beer catering to young adults looking for flavourful alcobevs
The new positioning was backed by data that showed Moonshine was pulling away younger beer-drinking adults. This also piggybacked the craft beer category through "stocked with beer, looks like beer, must be beer" tagline.
Old Positioning
Building the category of meads in an fast-growing RTD segment
While new markets were opening up for meads, the RTD positioning did not permeate through due to the dominance of spirits in the market. The positioning also raised concerns around category creation burn that had been observed by craft beer.
Raised their first institutional round led by Anthill Ventures with participation from Auxano and angels
Featured on Shark Tank India and received offers from all sharks
